RUSSIAN AIRCRAFT CORPORATION "MIG"
- corporation for the future of Russia

The MiG-29 Family of Tactical Fighters

The MiG-29 tactical fighter, developed by MiG Corp. in the early 1980s, remains one of the world's most popular and powerful fighter aircraft.
MiG Corp. has designed a system of upgrades to the MiG-29 that allows customers to choose from a menu of upgrade options that ensure that the global fleet of MiG-29 fighters will remain a truly world-class force well into the future.

The Upgrade Program for MiG-29SM, MiG-29SMT-1 and MiG-29SMT-2 Multipurpose Fighters

Within the framework of the MiG-29 evolution program, the SM series of multipurpose fighters incorporate significant improvements over the initial versions of these aircraft. The fighter's principle characteristics have been enhanced, providing improvements that include increased combat range and improved maneuverability. In addition, the SM variants offer new capabilities for the use of precision air-to-air and air-to-surface weapons, as well as electronic warfare and the capability to conduct coordinated actions in combat groups.

The MiG-29K/MiG- 29 KUB Multipurpose Carrier-Based Fighters

The MiG-29K carrier-based fighter was developed in the late 1980s. Although changes in Russian military doctrine resulted in suspension of MiG-29K flight testing in 1992, the evaluations accomplished by that time had clearly demonstrated that the MiG-29K met all key requirements for carrier-based aircraft. MiG Corp. currently is preparing the MiG-29K and MiG-29KUB – the aircraft’s single and two-seat versions – for the final stages of flight testing in preparation for export delivery.

The variety of MiG-29 upgrades provide air forces of any country with aircraft that meet their operational and mission requirements. These upgrades allow operators to optimize their fighter fleet with cost-efficient aircraft that offer a maximum of capabilities.
