KALYAZIN PLANT

The Kalyazin Engineering Plant was established in Kalyazin, a small city on the Volga River, in 1967 as an affiliate of former Znamya Truda plant and currently known as the MiG Corp. Moscow Component and Aircraft Assembly Plant. Initially, the Kalyazin facility was developed for spare parts manufacturing to provide support for combat aircraft that had been phased out of series production but were still in service with air forces of the world. In 1973, the plant went through major modernization and a number of new shops were opened, including an aircraft seat manufacturing facility and a high-temperature processing shop. The Kalyazin plant currently employs over 300 specialists
