MiG Corp. is a fully integrated company in which all the processes of aircraft development, manufacturing, product support and modernization are combined within a single entity. MiG Corp. is a shareholder in several companies, and it owns a number of subsidiaries that include design and manufacturing companies specializing in aircraft engines and avionics.
MiG Corp. brings together the resources of the Mikoyan Design Bureau engineering center; the Voronin Production Center (including three manufacturing plants based in Moscow, Lukhovitsy and Kalyazin); and marketing, customer support, financial and training centers.
Incorporation of the design bureau and manufacturing plants into a single entity provides a full-service corporation. Such integration has yet to become the rule in Russia’s aircraft industry, and it required new thinking in the development of MiG Corp.'s organizational structure and management.
MiG Corp.’s current management structure is based upon division architecture. The latter implies vertical integration of each product activity, as well as extended horizontal links at each level of management structure, i.e. development, manufacturing, marketing or financing.
This state-of-the-art management structure provides logical and efficient solutions for the corporation as it meets the new economic realities in Russia and faces its competitors in the international civil and military aircraft markets.
