By tradition, MAKS is distinguished for its impressive scientific programme. MAKS 2001 reaffirmed the top-notch level of the Russian aerospace science.
The even hosted the 6th International Symposium Aerospace Technologies of XXI Century: "Challenges in Aeronautics", in which over 600 scientists and experts participated, including over 100 representatives of 33 countries.
Within the TsAGI-held symposium there was the seminar "Technology Transfer and International Cooperation", joined by leaders of major aerospace companies from Brazil, China, France, Germany, Japan, Russia and US. The participants in the seminar analyzed problem related to Russia's joining the global hi-tech market and discussed the matters of international aerospace cooperation.
TsAGI and the German Aerospace Assiciation (BDLI) agreed to hold the 7th International Scientific and Technological Symposium during the ILA-2002 International Aerospace Exhibitiona in Berlin.
