Description
System of automatic control SAU-140
The digital duplicated automatic flight control system is developed for the An-140 aircraft and provides flight-director and automatic flight control, as well as implements following functions:
• automatic stabilization of the pitch angle;
• automatic stabilization of the roll angle;
• automatic stabilization of the heading angle;
• automatic stabilization of the barometric altitude;
• automatic roll control by the autopilot control stick (ACS);
• automatic pitch control by the ACS;
• setting the selected heading by the ACS and indication of its value on the AFCS
panel;
• setting the flight level by the AFCS panel switch and indication of its
commanded value on the AFCS panel;
• generation of the signals warning about approach to the commanded flight level and
deviation from it;
• automatic recovery and commanded flight level stabilization;
• automatic recovery and commanded heading stabilization;
• automatic Vi stabilization by the elevator;
• Vi stabilization by thrust control;
• the stabilizable Vi value should be adjusted by push button (the so-called “tangenta”) on
the AFCS panel;
• horizontal navigation by the satellite navigation system (SNS) and by the VOR/DME beacons;
• automatic and flight-director approach by the SNS;
• automatic and flight director approach (including altitude hold section too) according to
Category II of ICAO for the aerodromes equipped with ILS localizer and glide-path
beacons appropriated to Category II standards, as well as landing approach according to
Category II of ICAO by localizer and glide-path beacons of Catet system;
• automatic and flight-director approach (including altitude hold section too) according to
Category I of ICAO for the aerodromes equipped with ILS localizer and glide-path
beacons appropriated to Category I and II standards, as well as landing approach
according to Category I of ICAO by localizer and glide-path beacons of Catet system;
• automatic go-around;
• flight-director reciprocal heading approach down to 80-100 m altitude;
• control wheel steering mode;
• automatic force trimming by pitch with enabled automatic control.
SAU-140 has built-in test equipment supporting:
• automatic preflight check;
• continuous in-flight serviceability monitoring.
