VTU TRAJECTORY CONTROL COMPUTERSThe VTU-123 trajectory control computer is a computing device that provides together with the director-control system computer, autopilot and trim mechanisms the Mi-172 helicopter and its modifications automatic trajectory control by roll, pitch, yaw and collective channels during the heading control, landing approach, vertical and horizontal maneuvers, that reduces essentially the crew work load.
The VTU-154 trajectory control computer is an additional airborne device hat expands the VTU-123 functions and allows the Mi-172 helicopter to realize automatically search and rescue modes:
• current absolute altitude stabilization;
• low speeds and hovering stabilization by signals of Doppler velocity and drift meter;
• approach with letdown from the current altitude to the preselected one with deceleration of the indicated airspeed to the preset one;
• hover approach with achievement of the preselected altitude with deceleration to the hanging;
• climb with transition from the hover mode to the indicated airspeed acceleration one;
• acquisition of the chosen by sight target with upwing hanging at the preselected altitude 100 m away from this target.
