Description:	The MiG-21 Family of Fighter Aircraft MiG Corp. is justifiably proud of the MiG-21 and the development history of this renowned fighter. During a period of 28 years, the aircraft was manufactured in 30 versions at three USSR plants as well as at three foreign facilities. The MiG 21 has seen service with 49 air forces worldwide. Its excellent combat characteristics enable the aircraft to remain a viable fighter in a number of roles. MiG Corp., together with the Sokol Nizhny Novgorod-based aircraft manufacturing plant (which was the primary MiG-21 manufacturer in the USSR when series production ended), have developed an extensive modernization program for the MiG-21 family. The MiG-21 family’s modernization program is aimed at expanding its weapon delivery capability. The upgrades allow these proven combat aircraft to be operated successfully by air forces worldwide for years to come
