SATURN D-30KP/KU/KU-154 series turbojets ensure reliable aircraft operation worldwide.
- total operating hours of SATURN D-30KU/KP/KU-154 fleet under operation since start of the production - 40 mln hours;
- annual total flight hours amount to about 2 mln hours;
- rated reliability factors of the engines fleet are significantly higher as compared to approved regulations for reliability of aircraft gas-turbine engines;
- engines of this series are equipped with protection and early failure detection systems.Today about 4000 of these series engines are operated by 120 carriers worldwide.Operational support of the engines fleet is provided by a service network - more than 80 constant representation offices at carriers and military units in Russia and abroad provide maintenance of the aircraft engines.Today efforts are applied to design advanced modifications with improved efficiency, environmental friendliness and operation ratings of the engines.
Program for the engines modernization comprises:
- provision of environmental ratings corresponding to ICAO Chapter 3 with 5dB noise margin and ICAO emission regulations which will be effective from 01.01.2004;
- improvement of operation ratings with take-off thrust regime to tn=+300С;
- 2.5% decrease of the fuel specific consumption;
- increase of operation reliability;
- service life increase.
