It is stipulated by the "wind rose" features in the vicinity of the airport; that is why the airport "Krasnoyarsk" is never closed due to weather conditions. 

The airport "Krasnoyarsk" is situated in 30 km from the City of Krasnoyarsk, the administrative center of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, and is one of the largest airports of Siberia. Today the airport is considered as one of the central alternate airports for aircraft during the cross-polar flights from North America to Southern and South-Eastern Asia.

The Airfield Facilities of the airport are suitable for reception of aircraft of all types of domestic and foreign production. The facilities are equipped according to. Category I of ICAO with the light- signal system SIEMENS.The Air Terminal Facilities include air terminal of internal Russian airlines with service capacity of 700 passengers per hour and international sector with service capacity of 150 passengers per hour. International terminal with service capacity of 300 passengers per hour is projected. 

The Air Technique Maintenance Facilities include airsheds for technical maintenance of the aircraft of I Class, industrial and maintenance buildings and structures for all kinds of technical servicing.

Freight terminal consistsof modern storage buildings and sites. The Airline Company "KrasAir" operates aircraft of Russian production: airliners - Tu-204, Il-86, Il-62, Tu-154, Yak-40; and air-freighters - Il-76, An-26.
