96L6Е

The all-altitude detector 96L6E radar station is intended for detection and measurement of targets coordinates (azimuth, elevation, range), it can be a component of means of anti-aircraft missile complex S-300PMU, S-300PMU1 and S-300PMU2 as self-contained means of target indication for anti-aircraft missile complexes 90Zh6E, 90Zh6E1, 90Zh6E2 and is interfaced with a command post of automated control system of Bajkal-1E type, Senezh-М1E or command post of radiotechnical troops of Osnova-1E, Pole-E types.

The 96L6Е radar can be manufactured in two versions:
- version on one transportation vehicle;
- version on two transportation vehicles.

In the version of manufacture on one transportation vehicle the 96L6Е radar comprises:
- antenna device 966АА01Е;
- container 966FF03E with receiving-transmitting equipment, data processing equipment, operators workstation, communication equipment, IFF system and a set of emergency spare parts, tools and accessories (SPTA);
- transportation vehicle ТМ966E on the base of self-propelled chassis 7930 with system of autonomous power supply SEP-2L on the base of power take-off generator (power taking-off is performed from the self-propelled chassis motor);
- set of cables.

In the version of manufacture on two transportation vehicles the radar 96L6E comprises:
- antenna post 966АА00E - a roadtrain consisting of an automobile tractor and a semi-trailer, on which the antenna device 966AA01E, the system SES-75 (SES-75M) (or similar) of autonomous power supply and a set of cables are placed;
- equipment post 966FF00E - a roadtrain consisting of an automobile tractor and semi-trailer, on which the container 966FF03E and the system of autonomous power supply SES-75 (SES-75М) (or similar) are placed.

The version of manufacture of 96L6E radar on two transportation vehicles admits to place antenna post and equipment post on a site at a distance of up to 100 m.

The following facilities can be added to the 96L6E radar:
- external power supply facility 98E6U;
- automobile tractors for 98E6U towing;
- tower 966АА14 - equipped tower 40V6М with a tractor MAZ-537G (74106) for its transportation;
- remote operator`s workstations (up to 4);
- set P28E of group SPTA.

Power supply can be performed from autonomous and built in facilities SEP-2L, SES-75 (SES-75М), from added external power supply means of 98E6U type or from commercial network through system of external electric power supply 98E6U.
The 96L6E radar, with azimuth-swinging multibeam antenna array providing electronic beam scanning in elevation, outputs automatically to the 30N6E, 30N6E1, 30N6E2 target illumination and target indication radars (TITIR) the data about air situation with a wide class of aerodynamic targets: aeroplanes, cruise missiles (including aircraft manufactured with the use of Stealth technique) and high-precision weapon means. Application of wide-base signals and frequency diversity operation provides the radar to perform high-efficiency detection both low-altitude targets and targets at intermediate and large heights. To provide targets detection at extremely low altitudes, on woodland and rugged terrain the radar antenna device can be lifted by means of a special tower - 966АА14.

The radar 96L6Е provides:
- surveillance of specified detection zones and automatic selection of high-priority targets for track initiation;
- lock-on of targets (bearings), which are to be tracked, with assignment of numbers;
- IFF identification of targets;
- automatic selection of high-priority targets for outputting target indications to the TITIR;
- automatic outputting to the TITIR coordinates of targets tracked by the TITIR for providing coordinate support;
- identification of four classes of air targets - aeroplanes, helicopters, remotely piloted vehicles (RPV) and missiles.

Interfacing of the 96L6E radar with S-300PMU, S-300PMU1 is performed via a cable, interfacing with S-300PMU2 system is performed by means of a remote workstation 965RR03E via microwave link or fibre-optic communication line.
