THE MI-28N COMBAT HELICOPTER IS INTENDED FOR:
-searching and destruction of tanks, armored vehicles, and enemy live power;
- destroying of protected objects and engaging of square targets (destroying of trench lines, defence constructions, etc.);
- installation of mine obstructions;
- searching and destroying of boats and other floatable means;
- fighting against high-speed and low-altitude aircraft of enemy;
- destroying of low-speed airborne targets;
at day-and-night and extreme weather conditions.
ACCOMPLISHING OF COMBAT MISSION AND HIGH SURVIVABILITY OF THE HELICOPTER IS PROVIDED DUE TO: - High-accuracy armament complex;
integrated complex of airborne radio-electronic equipment;
- high-effective armoring of cabins (including side armored glasses) which provide protection of crew from armor-piercing and fire bullets of 12,7 caliber, and from 20mm caliber projectiles;
- airborne multifunctional complex of helicopter defence;
separation of engines and shielding of main aggregates by auxiliary ones;
- using of new materials and structures which are stable to combat damages, including fuel system, excluding blasting or burning of fuel.
THE HELICOPTER IS EQUIPPED WITH A COMPLEX OF AIRBORNE RADIO-ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT WHICH PROVIDES:
- performing of night flight in adverse weather conditions with NOE at extremely low altitudes (5-15m) in automatic mode;
- search, detection and recognition of ground and air targets, determination of their coordinates and displaying of target indication of ground and air command points;
- interaction of the helicopters in a group with target indication from leading to driven ones and interchanging of data between the helicopters;
- deep integrated control, operation on condition and training of crew.
