The Yak-54 is a two-seat sporting and aerobatic trainer designed for training sports pilots in aerobatic flights and for participating in the aircraft sports competitions.
The Yak-54 is a single-engine monoplane of conventional mid-wing aerodynamic configuration with non-retractable tail wheel landing gear. The aircraft is powered by the M-14X engine of 360 h.p.

The Yak-54 has a large margin of thrust-to-weight ratio, maneuverability, allowing the sport-pilot to perform the whole complex of aerobatic maneuvers. This aircraft with minimum use of ground servicing equipment has a very high degree of reliability and simple operation, providing possibility of wide aircraft utilization by flying clubs.
