Description: The Mi-17 possesses the key attributes necessary for Search&Rescue
missions, as well as a wide variety of other special operations. Equipment for
such missions includes: external rescue hoist with 150kg lifting capacity; internal
rescue hoist (300 kg); universal lifting seat and basket; unique stretcher system
and emergency medical kit; searchlight; FLIR system; static line parachuting
equipment; abseiling device for commandos; individual electronics equipment
tailored for specific mission requirements. The versatility of the aircraft is further
enhanced by installation of additional fuel tanks to increase the operating radius
for missions well beyond the range offered by the main fuel tanks.
