Yalamov Eduard Spiridonovich was born in the town of Verchnaya Pishma, Sverdlovsk region.
In 1961 he graduated from the Kirov Urals Polytechnical Institute, where he acquired knowledge and skills in the following speciality- machine-engineering technology, metal-cutting tools and instruments.

Personal achievements
Eduard Spiridonovich Yalamov was born on the 3rd of December, 1938, in the town of Verchnaya Pishma, Sverlovsk region.
In 1961, after graduation from the Kirov Urals Polytechnical Institute he was assigned to work to the Urals Optical Mechanical Plant. In 1967 he started as process engineer of the machine shop and finally was made senior production engineer of the plant. In 1971 he was appointed chief engineer of the plant, and in 1986 he became director of the plant. Since 1988 up to the present E.S.Yalamov bears the title of General Director of the Production Association ”The Urals State Optical Mechanical Plant”.
During the period of his long industrial activity at PO ”UOMZ” E.S.Yalamov has made a valuable contribution to working -out of complex problems relating to the technological procurement of developments and technological preparations for manufacture of new optronic products, based on introduction of leading scientific technologies, both for civil and military application. He is the author of many scientific and technical articles, published in special issues, and a number of registered inventions. Under the guidance and with direct participation of E.S.Yalamov there were developed and put into full production quite a number of optronic systems intended for armament complexes of different designation; attitude control and aiming system for modern armament types , as well as aviation laser station for distance measuring and target lighting for Su and MiG planes, Mi-28 and Ka-50 helicopters; optotelevision systems for An-124, An-72P, Tu-22MZ, Tu-160 planes; there were also worked out and produced test specimens of gyrostabilized twenty- four- hour optronic systems of new generation for application in various types of Armed Forces, for solving industrial tasks and carrying out ecological monitoring. To provide for the federal land reform and drawing up of the land cadastre of Russia there were worked out and put into full production a wide range of optical geodetic sets. In the association, owing to E.S.Yalamov”s initiative, there appeared a new production orientation- endoscopic and neonatal technique, some of the items were introduced into medical practice.
At present E.S.Yalamov keeps under his own control solution of methodological problems, relating to working-out of new items of civil and military technique, technological production preparation and production mastering. Great attention he pays to the problems of working out and implementation of technical policy of the enterprise concerning procurement of Armament complexes with unified high-voltage optronic systems for interspecific application, setting up of optronic systems of dual technology, introduction of such organizational structure of association management that would conform to new economic requirements, and implementation of new forms of the enterprise cooperation with business partners.
E.S. Yalamov”s long and successful professional activity is marked with quite a number of state awards: the Order of the October Revolution, two Orders of the Red Banner of Labour, the Badge of Honour, the 3-class Order ”For great services for the Homeland”, the Medal ”300-year anniversary of the Rissian fleet”, besides, owing to the Medal of S.A. Zverev, instituted by the Rozhdestvenskiy Optical Society, he was awarded with the titles of the State USSR Prize-Winner and the Honoured Worker of the USSR Industry.
In 1999 E.S.Yalamov was elected Counsellor of the Russian Academy of Rocket and Artillery Sciences for the Department ”High-voltage rocket-artillery systems and complexes”.
