The Russian Space Forces (VKS) - the branch of central subordination in the structure of Armed Forces of Russian Federation. VKS play a key role in the implementation of space activity of Russia. VKS carry out systematic preparation and launches of all national launch-vehicles and control the Russian orbital constellation of satellites. VKS are responsible for carrying out the preparation, launch and control operations of military spacecraft and civilian ones. VKS are also the general customer of military space systems and also the ones of dual use.
