ARIRE - Russia's oldest defense-related organization. The Institute has created the first domestic radars to detect aerial target to be deployed with air defense, air force and naval units. Given its huge research and engineering base the institute has helped to start a number of dedicated design bureaux, institutes and production plants. Principial areas of research and engineering: comprehensive research of issues related to radar acquisition development of interservice radars to be deployed with air defense, ground, air force, naval units, as well as of dual- use radars to be integrated in air defense and air traffic control systems; basic and applied research of radar systems engineering. Creation of standardized modularly-built radars featuring faced arrays, digital arrays, solid state microwave transmitters, digital signal and message processing capabilities; creation radar self-protection aids to ward off precision guided munitions; development of integrated simulators; implementation of the conversion program. At present, we are involved in joint projects with international firms.
