Main lines of businessThe main directions of production activities of J.S.C. SAMARA MACHINE-BUILDING DESIGN BUREAU”, founded in 1957, were:
- increasing of reliability and service life (in quantity production and
operation) of aircraft engines, designed by Design Bureau under the leadership of General Designer N.D.Kusnetsov for the following airplanes: TU-114, AN-22, TU-95, TU-22M, TU-144, TU-160
- development and introduction of engine diagnostic technigues and instrumental means.
Over a long period of time our company conducted design support in quantity production of liquid-fuel rocket engines and development of new engines for space programmes.
List of main productsAt present J.S.C. ”SMBDB”, possessing modern production and test bases, highly skilled personnel, using the totality of experience, is engaged in engineering development and in increasing of reliability and service life of gas-turbine engines and piston engines.
Among the last developments:
- NK-14E gas-turbine engine for the drive of generators as a part of small-sized electric stations (power - 10 MW)
- series-produced NK-14ST gas-turbine engine for the drive of gas-transfer units (power - 8,6 MW)
- series-produced gas-jet sets for the cleaning of snow and ice from airfields on the base of NK-22 and NK-12 engines
- a family of small-sized piston engines for general aviation (power - 20-100 h.p.)
- ”Vikhr” ontboard engines (power - 30-50 h.p.).
Long-term developments of J.S.C. УSMBDBФ:
- the engine for the drive of gas-transfer units with nominal power of 10MW
(NK-14ST-10). There are two variants of the engine: with free turbine rotational speed n=8200RPM (at nominal regime) and with free turbine rotational speed n=5000PRM
- the engine with power of 12...12,5MW and with efficiency of 35% (NK-14ST-12) is being developed on the base of NK-14ST-10 engine
- the variant of NK-14ST engine with exhaust gas heat regeneration has been designed (the efficiency of this engine is being increased from 32% to 41%)
- the aircraft piston engine with power of 60 h.p. for general aviation is being
developed
- out board engine with power of 60 h.p. for small-sized fleet is being developed.
