List of modifications: • MAIN UNIT. Corrected GKU based on dynamically tuned gyroscope is placed into a cylindrical casing with the heading scale at the top. Protection 1 P 22.

• ELECTRONIC UNIT. It generates correction & control signals and secondary voltages for gyroscope. It also converts analog heading into digital code (NMEA0183 RS232/422).

Description: Gyroscopic Heading Indicator GKU-5 is designed to fit to a wide variety of Navy ships and vessels.
GKU-5 provides for the vessel's heading against the geographical meridian at speed up to 90 knots, latitude up to 75 degrees (in directional gyro mode up to 90 degrees) and pitch and roll angles up to 45 degrees. It gives information about the operation mode and failures. Digital and analog heading outputs can be transmitted to any number of customers through the Heading Translator or the Distribution Box.
