BLMZ manufactures profile titanium castings used as blanks and semi-finished products for aircraft engines and airframes, chemical and medicine (elements of prostheses and endoprostheses).

The following casting methods are employed:
- casting by lost-wax process;
- assembly moulding;
- casting in shell moulds

The following industrial titanium alloys are used at the plant:
VT1-00 (ASTM B-367-93 Grade C2), Ti5Al (VT5L), Ti6AlMo2Zr2V (VT20L), Ti6Al4V (ASTM B-367-93 Grade C5), Ti6AlMo5ZrCrV(VT21L).
The process of liquid metal surfacing and potting is performed in the vacuum potting/casting facilities, conforming to the highest international standards, which use both graphite crucibles and copper watercooled crucibles. Potting and casting processes have been automatically controlled to produce high-quality castings and save metal and energy.

Various technologies are used to manufacture complex articles measuring from 10x10x10 mm to d600x800 mm and weighing from 0,005 to 200 kg with a wall thickness up to 2+-0,5 mm and error up to +-1,5 mm at the largest size.

The plant has vacuum thermal equipment, that allows to operate with items with size d600х1000mm. If necessary, we have the opportunity to make hot isostastic pressing (HIP) of casting.

Producing titanium casting, we use contemporary methods of quality control, such as X-Ray control, LPE-control, chemical consistence and mechanical properties of each smelting. We also do qualitative recovering of defects, using argon welding.

Our equipment allows to produce for more than 150 tons of casting a year with number of items less than 10000.
