The first regular flight was launched in January, 1997. This was the flight Krasnoyarsk Ц Svetlogorsk Ц Norilsk. This was a weekly flight.
In 1997 Sibaviatrans was the first to organize a cross-polar flight Krasnoyarsk Ц Montreal Ц Washington. That was a new route which connected South-Eastern Asia with North America.
The following year the number of flights and carried passengers were increased dramatically. New flights from Krasnoyarsk to Tura, Kodinsk, Turukhansk and some other towns of the Krasnoyarsk Territory were introduced. Later the routes to Igarka, Severo-Yeniseysk and Motigino were opened. The company also developed its cargo transportation and delivered goods to distant parts of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. In 1998 Sibaviatrans started to operate regular flights from Norilsk. As the result the company took the first prize of national award УWings of Russia-98Ф in nomination УRegional CarrierФ.
In 1999 the airline performed the first flight to the North Pole on Antonov-74 aircaft.
A year later a subsidiary in Murmansk was opened and traditional regional transportation, cargo and passenger flights, health-care and emergency aviation were recommenced there.
In 2001 the airline got the first prize of УWings of RussiaФ in the third group of domestic passenger carriers (passenger traffic from 0.2 to 0.5 millions RPK).
Since the very beginning Sibaviatrans has exploited helicopters. They are used in health-care, forest guarding, oil and gas prospecting, geology and survey programs. They also serve for controlling objects of fuel and energy complex and emergency needs.
There is a cargo agency УSiat-Cargo-ExpressФ in the company. Its responsibilities are domestic and international cargo transportation and forwarding.
The agency УSiAT-TRAVELФ is one more subdivision of Sibaviatrans. In 1997 it became an independent unit. Its main priority is booking and selling air tickets. In addition it has railroad and interurban booking offices. УSiAT-TRAVELФ is a member of Russian Association of Travel Agencies.
