Basic directions of activity

J.S.C. Nizhny Novgorod aircraft building plant SOKOL was founded in 1932 for serial production of fighter aircraft. It collaborated with the N.N.Polikarpov, S.A.Lavochkin, A.I.Mikoyan Design Bureaus. Current products and upgraded aircraft include the MiG-31, MiG-29, MiG-21 SOKOL is also responsible for warranty maintenance and aircraft repair. It is well-known as a supplier of the Ministry of Defence of Russian Federation and collaborates with foreign countries. Civil programs include manufacture of aircraft with unique performance such as the "Gzhel", "Accord", "Volga-2" WIG aircraft, "Sokol" hydrofoil boat. Except of Russian certificates, SOKOL obtained quality certificates of Dornier Luftfahrt GmbH (Germany), Aermacchi S.p.A. (Italy). It was awarded with the Orders of Lenin (1936, 1970), Order of the Red Banner (1941), Order of the October Revolution (1982).
