Main lines of businessIn 1996 AVTOVAZ Inc. has been certified as the organization with the capability to design civil aircraft internal combustion engines. The Special Design Unit for Rotary Engines designs and builds prototype rotary engines with the power range of 140 to 400 h.p. for general-purpose aviation. Currently two aircraft engines, twin-rotor VAZ-416 (160180 h.p.) and three-rotor VAZ-426 (210-270 h.p.), are undergoing the certification. The Special Design Unit for Rotary Engines is supported by the R&D and manufacturing capabilities of AVTOVAZ Inc.
