Gyroscopic Heading Indicator GKU-5 is designed to fit to a wide variety of Navy ships and vessels.
GKU-5 provides for the vessel`s heading against the geographical meridian at speed up to 90 knots, latitude up to 75 degrees (in directional gyro mode up to 90 degrees) and pitch and roll angles up to 45 degrees. It gives information about the operation mode and failures. Digital and analog heading outputs can be transmitted to any number of customers through the Heading Translator or the Distribution Box.
GKU-5 complies with the requirements of IMO A.424(XI), A.821(19), MEC 945-95,
ISO 8728-1987.
