ROSOBORON EXPORT STATE CORPORATION AT MAKS-2003 INTERNATIONAL AEROSPACE SHOW |
|
On the 19 - 24 August, 2003, the 6th International Aerospace Show MAKS-2003 will take place at the town of Zhukovsky near Moscow. The air show is ranked now among the biggest aerospace shows in the world and for obvious reasons is considered as the place of business communication and mutually beneficial contacts. For the first time of its history above 40 live samples of flying machines of foreign origin do participate in the show, including acrobatic teams from USA, France, Italy. One of the main targets of holding the air show at Zhukovsky is to demonstrate capabilities of Russian aeronautical and rocket-and-space engineering, weaponry and high technologies. Some space of the air show will be occupied by air defense facilities, as well as by the weapons and materiel of ground forces. Rosoboronexport State Corporation participates at Zhukovsky Salon regularly. The participation provides the Corporation with an opportunity to marry its marketing strategy with balanced promotion of advanced arms systems of Russian origin abroad, when potential buyers may be acquainted with their unique performances just during the exhibition. Rosoboronexport acts as a sole state intermediary agency in the sphere of military and technical cooperation between Russia and foreign states. The Corporation cooperates with more than 60 countries of the world, has its offices in 41 foreign states and 24 regions of Russia. Its permanent partners in the sphere of military and technical cooperation are the countries of Asian and Pacific Region, Latin America, Africa, Middle East, Europe, Commonwealth of Independent States. It is symbolic that this MAKS is held in the year when the system of military and technical cooperation of Russia with foreign countries celebrates its Golden Jubilee. During this period of time, about 12000 à/ñ and 1000 helicopters of combat aviation had been supplied to 59 countries. Besides of this, about 800 combat a/c had been manufactured by license or with Russian technical assistance. Being an official successor of its predecessors, the Rosoboronexport Corp is actually the leading Russian exporter of Russian weaponry abroad. The professional tenet of the Corporation's top-management is the maximum possible use of profit, gained from export of weapons and military materiel, for creation of state-of-the-art armaments by the national Defense Industries, which will be capable of providing the reliable security of the Russian State. For the time passed since the MAKS'2001 air show, the exporting potential of Russian aerospace industry has grown considerably. This is witnessed by the results of the foreign commercial activity of Rosoboronexport. In 2002 the Corporation exported abroad military systems and equipment for the sum of above $4 billion. It is actually the best results of the Rosoboronexport's commercial activity in all history of Russian defence exports. The Corporation's order book is valued now at about $ 13 billion. Such volumes of orders provide Russian defence industries, engaged in their implementation, with secured work during the next 3-4 years. The aviation sector still dominates in the structure of the Corporation's export layout, being about 60 %. Among the biggest contracts of the current year are the contract for delivery of 18 Su-ÇÎÌÊÌ aircraft to Malaysia, two Su-27SK aircraft, two Su-ÇÎÌÊ aircraft and two Mi-35 helicopters to Indonesia. Russia and these leading states of the South-East Asia strive steadily for considerable expansion of the scope of cooperation both, in nomenclature and in volume. Russian aerospace industry also demonstrates its maturity and consistency as a long-term strategic partner under the large-scale contracts already being implemented by it. Thus, in autumn, 2002, the Indian Air Force inducted into service the first lot of the newest SU-30MKI multi-functional fighters. The uniqueness of this project goes beyond the scope of the bilateral Russian-Indian military and technical cooperation. This is the only case in the world when the national air force passed into service the production fighters with the thrust vector control engines and with the radar equipped with the phased-array radar. In addition, for the first time, Russia exports avionics produced in cooperation with Indian, French and Israeli companies. Columbia has become a large-scale operator of Russian Mi-17 combat -transport helicopter in Latin America. For the last 5 years about 20 helicopters have been delivered thereto. There are some prospects for supply of the "Mi" family helicopters to Chile, Venezuela and other countries of South America. The manufacturers of Russian air materiel participate on equal terms in the biggest regional tenders for purchase of multipurpose fighters and combat helicopters. The tender bids offered by Rosoboronexport are found among favorites not only with respect to the "price-quality" criterion, where Russia is traditionally strong. More and more often Russian offset proposals and technologies and licenses transfer programs are recognized competitive. At present, the cooperation between the Russian aviation industries and partners from Europe, especially from France, has become more active. Thus, at Paris Air Show'03, last June, Rosoboronexport together with the Sukhoi Corporation signed MoUs with such big European corporations as EADS, MBDA, SAGEM, Dassault. Among the trends of cooperation considered by Rosoboronexport to be the most promising ones are the joint projects with European corporations involving up-gradation of airplanes and helicopters, still operational with the countries of Central and East Europe. These and other examples testify to a rather big potential of national Defence Industries and growing demand of main world markets for Russian products of military and dual purpose. At the exhibition sites of MAKS-2003 the experts of Rosoboronexport together with the representatives of Russian Defence Industries will undertake special marketing efforts in promoting products and services of military and dual purpose. Much attention will be paid to commercial projects being implemented together with the leading DBs and manufacturers of military materiel. Always in high demand on the world market are the products of the 'Sukhoi* family, actively promoted by Rosoboronexport to potential customers. At the show, one may get acquainted with practically all exported models of the "Su" family aircraft of the "4" and "4+" generations, including Su-27SK fighter, Su-30MKand Su-35 multifunctional fighters, Su-32 multifunctional fighter-bomber, Su-25SMK and Su-25TM attack aircraft, Su-25UBK and Su-35UB combat trainers, Su-33 and Su-27KUB ship-based aircraft. The products of Yakovlev DB have good prospects on foreign markets. At the latest aerospace shows this DB together with Rosoboronexport has presented Yak-1 SOD demonstrator aircraft and the mockup cabin of Yak-130 combat trainer of production line. This aircraft can be used both, for pilots training and for fulfillment of strike missions under the conditions of low intensity conflicts. The marketing analysis shows that the requirement for aircraft, class Yak-130, makes up 800 to 1200 pieces. Yak-130 can also be used as a part of the reconnaissance and strike complex including the remotely controlled reconnaissance and target designation aircraft (RCA). Much attention in the Corporation's marketing strategy is paid to promotion of national military transport and special-purpose aircraft. In this sector of aviation, Rosoboronexport offers to its foreign partners the military transport and special-purpose aircraft of the "Ilyushin" (IL-76MD, IL-76MF, IL-78MK, IL-114P), "Tupolev" (Tu-214), "Antonov" (An-74, An-38), "Beriev" (Be-200) families. Of great exporting potential are Russian helicopters of the "Mil" and "Kamov" grades. Russian designers have succeeded in solving the problem of combination of efficiency and cost of helicopter materiel. Within the framework of MAKS-2003 Rosoboronexport together with the manufacturers will demonstrate a series of upgraded and new helicopters including Mi-35PM, Mi-28NE, Mi-171Sh, Mi-17-lV, Ka-50, Ka-50-2, Ka-52, Ka-62, Ka-226, which are capable to fulfill successfully a wide spectrum of missions in the most extreme conditions. Promoted in cooperation with "Rostvertol" JSC, Mi-35M combat transport helicopter is a result of deep upgrading of famous combat transport helicopter Mi-35. Updating the dynamic system and equipping Mi-35M with the state-of-the-art avionics, high-precision navigation and night vision systems allowed to improve the combat capabilities of the helicopter. It is capable of fulfillment of a wider scope of missions on the round-the-clock basis. Due to the fact that Russian air defence systems are of a great interest on the world market, Rosoboronexport together with their developers and manufacturers offers a wide spectrum of long-, medium- and short-range air defense systems. Among them are S-300PMU2 "Favorit", "Antei-2500", "Buk-Ml-2", "Tor-Mi", "Tunguska-Ml", "Igia" surface-to-air missile systems and complexes; "Vega", "Orion", "Okhota" radio and electronic reconnaissance means; "Gamma", "Protivnik", "Nebo", "Nebo-SVU", "Kasta-2E2" modem radars; "Polyana-D4Ml", "Fundament", "Krym" automated control equipment. Foreign partners will be able to get acquainted in details with unique technologies of upgrading Russian air defense systems and means of previous generations. First of all, these are "Shilka", ZU-23, "Strela-10" short-range air defenses; "Strela-2" portable SAM system; "Osa-AKM", "Kub", ("Kvadrat"), "Pechora" short- and medium-range systems; P-18, P-37 and other types of radars, which are in service in many countries of the world. There is more and more demand for Russian rocket-and-space materiel on the world market. Proceeding from the main targets of national space policy Rosoboronexport takes an active part in international cooperation in the sphere of space activity. It is aimed at satisfaction of the needs of foreign customers for various-purpose space systems capable of solving both, national and world problems. Successful launches of foreign scientific spacecraft by the "Kosmos-ÇÌ" rocket under the Corporation's contracts are the actual example of such cooperation. Also exhibited at the air show will be the full-scale models of weaponry for ground forces. Among them are: self-propelled missile launcher of the Iskander-E" system; combat vehicle of'Khrizantema-S" antitank system; "Shturm-S" upgraded round-the-clock antitank system. By the initiative of Rosoboronexport, presented for the first time is an exhibition of fire weaponry integrated with the miniature reconnaissance system and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) "Pchela-1" for ensuring real-time destruction of objects. Interface between the air reconnaissance means, multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), self-propelled howitzers, type "Msta", and automated control systems makes it possible to make reconnaissance over the entire tactical depth, automate firing preparation and fire delivery, evaluate the results of targets destruction. Meanwhile, "Pchela-1" UAV and automated control systems may be integrated with fire weapons developed in other countries. Rosoboronexport State Corporation invites Russian and foreign partners for a long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation, joint constructive work at the 6th International aerospace show MAKS-2003.
