An unprecedented number of Israeli defense firms are headed to Paris for the huge iennial EUROSATORY arms fair opening next week.
At least 23 local firms will participate in the Israeli national pavilion and another dozen will be attending on their own. The Israeli companies will join another 40 countries displaying their weaponry and products focusing on land forces.
Unlike other defense product shows, this one is not open to the public, giving a chance to firms to expose themselves more and talk shop with the thousands of military officers and defense officials attending from around the world.
The show takes place in Villepinte near Paris between June 14 and 18.
Last month, Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz revealed that Israeli defense sales account for some 10 percent of world’s arms exports.
According to defense ministry officials, the focus on this year’s EUROSATORY is mainly Homeland Defense. But this certainly did not rule out the classical warfare needs such as protection, survivability, firepower, intelligence, communication and command and control and they are expected to receive due attention.
"Your Vision is Our Mission," is the motto of the Israeli participants, organized by the Defense Ministry’s SIBAT Department, which deals with defense exports.
Among the companies attending will be the giants Rafael, Israel Aircraft Industries, Elbit Systems and TASS-Israel Military Industries. But also attending are Ashot Ashkelon, ITL - International Technologies (Lasers) and New Noga Light.
