"Once, on the English language lesson our teacher asked usЕ"

Once, on the English language lesson our teacher asked us to write a

composition about our town. So, I am very glad to bigiven an opportunity

to tell you some words about the town where I live and study. Its name is

Zhukovsky. I like this town very much and I'm very proud of it. It is

situated not far from Moscow, about 40 kilometers and it is a very

beautiful town. There are a lot of green parks and forests in Zhukovsky.

Once, it was cold "the grin town".

Zhukovsky is the center of Russian aviation. It was named after Nicole

Egorovich Zhukovsky, the father of Russian aviation. He was a scientist

in the field of aviation. There is a monument to him in the center of our

town.

There are two scientific institutes here, "TsAGI" (Central

Aerohydrodynemic Institute) and LII (flight Research Institute) after

Michael Gromov, the first head, legendary pilot and professor.

Famous pilots: Gagarin, Levchenko, Fedotov, Chkalov, Gamaew

trained in LII and did their best for the development of Russian aviation.

That is why many streets have their names, the houses where they lived

have memorial boards and there are monuments to these people in the

streets of our town. For example, a monument to Chkalov is not far from

the street named after him.

Our town is one all over the country where there are two scientific

institutes of aviation.

There are some exceptional things in our town. They are: the largest

Aerohydrodynomic tube, the largest aerodrome in Europe and a lot of

others.

We have some institutes where students learn a lot of things about

aviation and become the scientists.

There are some airports in Zhukovsky. A lot of people fly to other

countries of Europe and Asia with the help of the airplanes of airport

Bykovo. We have some other airports, which make load transportation.

Zhukovsky has become famous all over the world owing to MAKS air

show which takes place every two years, A lot of people come to the air

show to watch the airplanes standing on the ground and flying in the sky.

People all over the world come to see the new achievements of Russian

aviation.

Our town is very beautiful and all people living here love it

very much.
