Short history of the Plant. |

| September 14,1944, when Russia was still at war, an aviation repair workshop was set up in Mineralnye Vody. Workers and engineers began to repair aviation equipment under the open sky because a small hangar and one-stored building that existed at that time had been destroyed during war. Equipment repairs and building of production facilities were done at the same time. Having restored the hangar and the one storied building, workshop workers began to build motor-test station with four noise suppression boxes and new motor workshops. In two years time new motor workshops had buildings, equipment and skilled work-force which was enough to start repairs of LE-2 airplanes and ASh-62ER engines. By 1948 workshops have grown into aviation repair base, and in 1962 the repair base became Сivil Аviation Plant 411. Up to 1970 the plant had done the repairs of piston-engined equipment: PO-2, LE-2 airplanes; engines M-11, ASh-62ER, ACh-26v; ME-1 helicopters. About 14 000 LE-2 airplanes used as night bombers and military transport planes have been repaired by the plant. In 1965 the construction of new production facilities for jet propelled aviation began. In 1971 the repairs of helicopters ME-2 with gas turbine engines GTD-350 started. To 1984 3 664 ME-2 helicopters had been repaired by the plant. In 1972 the first repairs of jet-propelled airplane YaK-40 were done. Since 1977 the plant has been doing the repairs of TU-154 airplanes. During that time 667 airplanes have been repaired. Total area of the plant premises amounts to 54 hectares including 80000 square meters of production facilities. |
