Brief history

Federal state-owned unitary enterprise Moscow Scientific & Research Institute of Instrument Engineering was created according to the Decree of the Defense State Committee of the USSR from the 1st of October, 1944, № 6639, under the title Central design office – 17 . Then, by the Decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR from the 10th of July, 1946, № 1529-678 the enterprise was reorganized in Research & development institute – 17 and finally renamed by the order of Ministry for Radio Industry of the USSR from the 24th of March, 1966, №160 into Moscow Scientific & Research Institute of Instrument Engineering .
