S.Ordzhonikidze " (a factory 21) in 1991. The collective has consisted of young experts OKB of a factory. Headed OKB "Chord" Main designer Jury Lahtachev and Eugeny Maslov. For two years of work OKB the plane the prototype the CHORD with engines D-150-10 on which the first flight on April, 18, 1994 the pilot - verifier is accomplished, the chief services of joint-stock company NAZ " Falcon ", the Hero of Russia Alexander Konovalovym has been designed and constructed. By results of operation of engines D-150-10 in in view of their lowest reliability and absence of the aviation certificate the decision on their replacement by engines Teledyne Continental Motors IO-360ES is accepted. This type of engines has been used at designing planes Silt - 103, Як-112 and Бе-103. The plane was developed according to the American norms лётной the validity of easy planes FAA FAR-23 and domestic aviation rules АП-23. In connection with serious study of a design of the plane assembly of the first skilled machine of this series has been started only in 1996. The first flight of plane " CHORD - 201 " (sulfurs. Number А33-00-001) with engines Teledyne Continental Motors IO-360ES has been executed on August, 20-th, 1997 by pilot ОКБ "Chord" Michael Nikiforovym. In July, 1998 on a water basin factory hydrotests of the plane the Chord 201 were carried out and good runway characteristics of the plane in a variant of a seaplane have been confirmed. Manufacture is conducted NPO « Авиа Ltd. » at the Nizhniy Novgorod airbuilding factory "Falcon" on a typical work cycle. Assembly is conducted with application of adaptations and assembly building berths. Since April, 20-th, 2000 plane " CHORD - 201 " has started performance of certified flights under program SZI (certified production tests) on the basis of domestic norms летной validity AP-23 approved by the Airregister the POPPY.
