Brief history

Cheboksary Instrument-Making Plant was founded on the 9th of February 1970. Since the very beginning it has been managed by Mr. Gleb A. Ilyenko, candidate of economic sciences;
In 1993, the plant received the status of an Open-type Joint-Stock Company `Cheboksary Instrument-Making Plant `ELARA`;
1968 - start of the plant construction;
1970 (Feb 09) - foundation of the plant;
1970 (Sept) - first item produced;
1986 - Order of Red Labour Banner;
1993 - Status `JSC `Elara`;
1995 - Birmingham Torch award for successful adapting to the economic conditions;
1999 - Certificate by RW TUV (Germany) conforming that Elara`s quality system is fully acceptable to the international ISO-9001 standards;
1999 - `Best Russian Exporter 1998` Diploma granted by the Ministry of Trade of Russia;
1999 - Certificate by Rockwell Collins conforming that Elara`s quality system is fully acceptable to the requirements of Rockwell Specification STO802GT0002, Revision P at the code 20C level;
2001 - Gold Medal of Exhibition committee of Airshow `MAKS-2001`; 2002 - Diploma of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of quality.
