Historical background

Open Society SPARK - one of the oldest among the aircraft-repair enterprises of Russia. On August, 15, 2006 the St.-Petersburg aircraft-repair company 75 years were executed.


For the long-term history it has passed a way from primitive workshops up to the largest, equipped with the advanced equipment and completed with the highly skilled personnel, repair shop.


On August, 15, 1931 the beginnings independently to function Aviation - repair base. Date of birth АRB is a starting point in a history of the factory which has turned in due course in an aircraft-repair factory ¹21, and then, in open joint-stock company Open Society St.-Petersburg aircraft-repair company.


Till 1959 at the enterprise repair of easy planes and their engines and construction of new skilled planes LK-1, АСК (« the Amphibian of Northern Edge(Territory) »), serial manufacturing of planes - amphibians was made.


In 1958 the enterprise has lead active preparation for repair of helicopters, and, the next year from his shops have returned to the sky of 48 devices such as Мi-4 OKB M.L.mile. Work with helicopters of the given model was prolonged neither much, nor it is not enough 27 years, down to 1985. Their development have started in 1959, and in 1960 have restored on one first sample Ка-15 and Ка-18. In 1968 repair of helicopters of family Mi-8 is mastered.


Per 1993 during privatization the enterprise is transformed into open joint-stock company.


Now Open Society SPARK is the conducting domestic enterprise on major overhaul and modernization (as for Russian, and foreign customers) helicopters such as Мi-8/17 all updatings, and also unique coaxial machines Ka-32T and Ка-32С. Besides the company provides preparation of the aviation experts, called to maintain these helicopters. Customers more than from 70 airlines of Russia and 30 foreign countries use services of the enterprise.
Annually at the enterprise is under repair more than 100 helicopters Mi-8/17 and Ка-32 various updatings.


Since 2004 of Open Society SPARK together with realizes a number of projects of the state value within the framework of intergovernmental arrangements of Russia and Mexico on creation of the service centers of maintenance service of our helicopters. Company SPARK unique who has developed and has designed for delivery "on a turn-key basis" the service center on servicing and repair of helicopters. Construction of the first service center has already come to the end in Mexico.


Today Open Society SPARK - the fast-growing, dynamical and versatile structure actively working both on domestic, and in the foreign aviation market. The company is always open to mutually advantageous cooperation with all partners maintaining the Russian helicopter technics.
